PNCA to pay tribute to ‘Uncle Sargam’ tomorrow

Islamabad: Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) will organise a condolence reference to pay a tribute to Farooq Qaiser known as ‘Uncle Sargam’ on May 20.
PNCA Director General Dr Fouzia Saeed, film expert and in-charge PNCA Film Section Ijaz Gul, Salima Hashmi, Arshad Mahmood, other personalities and members of his family would shed light on the life and contributions of prominent puppeteer.
He was died of cardiac arrest at the age of 75 on Friday. Farooq Qaiser, best known as ‘Uncle Sargam’, was a household name for Pakistani kids of the 80s and 90s, said DG PNCA.

Napier City Council s decision to not establish Maori wards by 2022 is being labelled disingenuous and racist ahead of a planned public protest tomorrow.
Read More Napier Mayor Kirsten Wise said not establishing Maori wards by 2022 was due to a lack of time council had to consult the community. Following a meeting with mana whenua on April 21, council resolved on April 22 to begin engagement and consultation immediately, Wise said.
Business activities to resume in KP from tomorrow

PESHAWAR: The KP will relax the lockdown it had imposed from May 8 to May 16 to prevent the spread of coronavirus from Monday and business centres will be allowed to reopen but with fresh standard operating procedures (SOPs) to be shut by 8 pm and the public transport will resume carrying the passengers half of the capacity.
All the commercial centers, markets and businesses, as per a circular of the Home Department, will have to be closed by 8 pm after resuming the activities from Monday.
The indoor and outdoor cultural, commercial and religious activities will remain banned. The restaurants and hotels will remain closed and only takeaway service to be allowed.
